Just Create App publishes editorial shortlists of software firms. They are for people who are hiring a vendor and want a starting set, not a paid ranking, not “the top 10 in the world,” and not a claim that we contracted every company on the page.
This page is the method behind those lists. Individual roundups add category-specific examples; they do not invent a second rubric.
Methodology
We score firms we can inspect in public. If a claim only exists in a sales email, it does not count. If we cannot describe why a firm is on a list, it does not belong on the list.
Who ranks these lists
Lists are scored by Alex Rode, founder of Just Create App. The byline on a roundup should match the person who last reviewed the scorecard. Brand-only bylines are not a substitute for a named editor.
What these lists are — and are not
- They are shortlists for a category (for example DevOps consulting or React development).
- They are not exhaustive. Thousands of firms exist in every stack; omission is not a verdict.
- They are not a statement that we hired, audited the code of, or interviewed clients of every firm.
- They are not marketplace slots. A company cannot pay to move up a list.
Inclusion bar
Before scoring, a firm has to clear a yes/no bar:
- A public website and an identifiable service that matches the list category.
- At least one verifiable case study, shipped product, or named client.
- Copy that is not only a directory blurb recycled across twenty categories.
Fail any one of those and the firm is out, regardless of inbound email.
Scorecard (same weights on every list)
- Category fit / stack proof — 30. Does the public site show this service as real work, not a keyword?
- Public work — 25. Portfolio, GitHub, case studies, apps, or named clients we can open in a browser.
- Reputation signals — 15. Clutch, G2, or Google reviews, always named. These are weak signals; they do not dominate the score.
- Delivery signals — 15. Team-size range, hiring, documentation, or pricing transparency where published.
- Independence — 15. No paid rank bump. A sales package does not change position.
Category pages restate these weights with examples for that stack (CI/CD for DevOps, Next.js portfolios for React). The numbers do not change from list to list.
What we do not score
- Paid submissions, affiliate kickbacks, or “featured” slots.
- Anonymous testimonials we cannot source.
- Press-release awards with no methodology of their own.
- How recently a firm emailed us.
Just Create App does not sell rank. If that policy ever changes, this page will say so before any list does. A company may email facts (new case study, dead link, name change). Facts can change a score. A wire transfer cannot.
How we research
Sources are public: company websites, engineering blogs, GitHub, app stores, and named review platforms. Job listings are a supporting signal for team shape, not a quality score. We do not treat “#1” claims on a vendor homepage as evidence.
Update cadence
Kept lists are reviewed at least quarterly. The Last reviewed date on a roundup must change when the table or the named firms change. The year in the title and the H1 must match. A list that cannot support a date and a scorecard should be redirected or removed, not left live.
Corrections
Vendors and readers can send corrections to justcreateapp@gmail.com. Include the list URL, the firm name, and a public URL for the fact you want updated. This is not a pitch inbox for buying a rank. For everything else, see About and Contact.
Lists that currently use this method
These are the flagship roundups. Other company URLs on this site are being pruned or rewritten; they should not be read as part of this scorecard until they show the “How we ranked this list” box.
